Happy Sunday! I pray those of you who are living in areas
near Hurricane Isaac are safe. This rain hasn’t let up but it didn’t keep me
home from church. Pastor Whitney stated as he opened the service this morning
that we (the congregation) made a powerful statement by attending worship service
even though it was storming outside. We praise God during the storm. Truth.net!
I must admit I haven’t been doing a good job of praising
while I go through these dreary days. I won’t call them dark because I am
beginning to laugh. So that word was for me to take notice. I’m usually the one
encouraging and praying for others but my Granny’s death left me lost. I’ve
spent many days wondering why my prayers weren’t heard for her recovery and
healing. This is where I am in trying to accept that she is no longer with me,
with us.
I believe that I’ll get to a place of peace and I’m ok with
not rushing it. There are good and bad days. One thing I remember about her as I
go through these days is her dedication to always looking nice despite what was
going on in your personal life. Granny had 14 kids and I know caring for them
wasn’t easy daily. Growing up I never saw her neglect her appearance. That is
certainly in my blood.

I found this dress during one of my thrifting stops before hitting
the beach days. I was looking for more animal print. I was actually hoping for
a maxi skirt but for $10 and no tax this wrap dress was a must. This is one of
my best thrifted finds. I can see It paired with a black blazer and patent
leather Steve Madden platform heels for a date night if I was actually dating
someone. HINT, HINT!
Funny thing about wearing this to church today was that it
was dress down Sunday. I was there last Sunday and Wednesday night and did n’t
hear anyone mention/announce that we were to come casual. So I was overdressed.
Happens right? Has it ever happened to you?
How was your church service and what did you wear? Enjoy
your last few hours before our work day on Monday. Sending love and prayers to
Haiti!!

You know it's always hard to understand why God allows somethings to happen. Especially when it comes to death and healing. I just believe that God knows best and I rely on that!!

Thanks Yolonda!
Efie Lynn, it was amazing. I was having a rough day missing my Grandmother. I decided to head to the beach to sit and think. It started raining so I went thrifting and viola :)
I won't have one on tomorrow either. I'm not a tee shirt fan. To me they are equal to closed toe shoes in South Florida..shrugs.
Yes Carsedra, He does. I've questioned it. Still do but for me it runs deeper than she was old, she died and God knows best. I wish I could explain it all here but it world take some time. In short, what I thought was my outpost in the Kingdom was shattered when she died. Keep praying for me!
Thank darling. The prayers are welcomed!!
Hey blogger girlfriend we need to have a Friday night outing in my head pal! Missing you!! Yes man'am. $40 on no tax weekend do they probably jacked up the price but I would have purchased it anyway, lolol ;) I saw the studded clutches in Forever 21 while in Dallas, didn't have room in my luggage & grabbed this one as soon as I got back home. Xo.
Thank you for stopping by. I think I have too much animal print stuff but can't stop buying it, LOLOLOL!! It is on the girl's best friends of things to have list :)
I struggled a lot when my grandmother passed away, and like your grand mother she was always dressed to nines no matter what. So we definitely have that in common. The thing that kind of brought me out of my grief was dreaming about her and seeing her okay. My brother and my mom also had the same dreams. It was like she was coming to us to say she was okay and that made me feel ok. I still miss her but I know she is good and in a better place.
